THE THREE PLUS PROJECT aims to break the cycle of poverty and inequality in remote regions of Papua New Guinea.
Women in Development Foundation PNG is partnering with Fulcrum Aid, Australia, to provide rural communities in Papua New Guinea with opportunities for education, health care, agriculture and improved nutrition.
The “Three Plus” project invests in “social capital”, i.e., the resources of the community, to provide education, primary health care, nutrition, improved agricultural practices and vocational opportunities.
There is a special emphasis on leadership and management by women as a means of ensuring better outcomes for the next generation and to overcome gender inequity.
An extensive process of community dialogue ensures that the initiative and responsibility for social change is shared by village members.
